First Batch of Plant Equipment Arrives

The Ghana National Gas Company on Saturday 6th April 2013, received parts of the gas plant from Canada for installation at the Gas Project site at Atuabo in the Ellembele district of the Western Region.

The equipment including, Glycol Regeneration Skid, Deethanzier compressor, Debutanizer Reflux Condenser, among others, form the first batch of shipment of the pre-fabricated units of the gas plant currntly being manufactured by a Canadian company- Thermo Design Engineering in Edmonton- Alberta.

The rest of the moduler plant are expected in the country between the months of May and July, 2013.

Meanwhile civil works on the plant site are going on in earnest with about 31% of work complete.

These came to light when the CEO of Ghana Gas, Dr. George Sipa- Adjah Yankey conducted the President John Mahama and a team of reporters round the project site this morning at Atuabo. Dr. Yankey further indicated that the offshore pipelaying has been 100% completed, whilst work on the onshore pipeline is about 70% complete.

Dr. Yankey expressed optimism that with the current pase, the company is poised to meet the revised timeline of last quarter of this year for the completion of the construction phase of the project.
